Put the blackberries, mint leaves, blackberry liqueur, sugar syrup, and lime juice in a small bowl or cocktail shaker. Puree and mash the mixture gently with a muddler. Pour the rum and soda water (optional) in the bowl or shaker and stir gently. Strain to remove the blackberry seeds and the rest of the mint leaves. Pour into a chilled glass with ice and garnish with fresh sprigs of mint and fresh whole blackberries.
