This Old Genever is aged for three years in barrels from Château Beaulieu, the previous wine estate of Jodocus Boomsma (fourth generation). This ageing process results in a refined and elegant genever.
A dark, sparkling golden Genever with a red tinge. The aroma is surprising with a hint of sweetness, currants, fudge and tropical fruits. Full and round in taste with notes of wood, vanilla and liquorice followed by a long spicy finish. Three years of ageing in the used wine barrels of Jodocus’ former wine estate give it the distinctive Boomsma character.
Some genevers are best enjoyed straight, like this unique one, our Old Genever – 3 years – aged in Beaulieu barrels.
You can even add a drop of spring water to allow the aromas to flourish.
